Artist
statement
Galina Hartinger explores the fragile boundary between artificial and human perception.
Her practice bridges AI-generated imagery and traditional painting, investigating how beauty, identity, and emotion are reconstructed in both digital and material forms.
In the series Dreaming Beauties / Nature Morte, AI becomes a mirror that idealizes and distorts the female image — reflecting collective fantasies shaped by social media and algorithms.
In Face is the Key, Hartinger returns to watercolor and gesture, capturing vulnerability and imperfection as acts of resistance against digital uniformity.
Together, these projects form a dialogue between two visions of humanity: one sculpted by machines, the other revealed through the physical touch of the hand.
Her work seeks to expose the psychology of beauty — the space where algorithmic desire and human presence meet and dissolve.
