Manifest

In today's world, where each individual performs on the global stage, donning masks imposed by society, my art seeks to break these stereotypes, restoring value to every unique personality. Our world is a vast theatrical project, where the true "self" is often replaced with an avatar, convenient for social perception. My work is aimed at showing that behind every mask there is a person, whose true beauty lies in their imperfections and vulnerabilities. Employing the tools of metamodernism, I call for a new sincerity, rejecting the false ideals imposed by social networks and the media industry. My pieces are a dialogue between the past and the future, between traditional methods and new technologies, where each image is an exploration of the relationship between the personal and the public, between identity and avatar. My art is multilayered, merging painting, digital art, and elements of artificial intelligence to create images that explore and provoke thoughts about the role of personality in contemporary society. With every brushstroke, every pixel, I aim to underscore that our true strength lies in our ability to be ourselves, despite all attempts by the world to hide this truth beneath conveniently consumable images.

My

Story

Through acrylics and inks, which quickly set, capturing each emotion and fleeting expression, I create portraits that reflect not only the exterior but also the inner, living essence of a person. These materials help me convey the metaphor of time, relentlessly moving forward, leaving indelible marks on our faces and in our hearts.

In my works, I strive to show that behind each mask lies deep uniqueness, and I encourage viewers to reject the imposed images, discovering their true individuality. This is an invitation to sincerity in a world where often only outward attractiveness is valued, and where artificial beauty threatens to replace the natural imperfection of the human experience.

About

Galina Hartinger was born in 1977 in Ukraine. Her university education in philosophy and religion and later on in theory and history of art underpinned her development as a thinker and helped her to develop her artistic inspirations. Her interest led her to study the art of drawing in the prestigious Academy of Arts in St.Petersburg. She has also received individual training from well-known artists in Russia and in South Africa. Observing the artists' individual style, she mastered her artistic technique. Galina has worked as a leading makeup artist with soloists at the Music Hall, the Musical Comedy Theater in St. Petersburg and on TV.

She has worked with famous opera singers Anna Netrebko, Olga Peretyatko, Elina Garancha, Dmitry Hvorostovsky and many other stars of the Russian theater and cinema scene.

Creating characters and heroes for musicals, drawing emotions for performances on the faces of artists while still working in the theater, Galina helped artists achieve maximum transformation, get used to the image and broadcast the character of the characters for the viewer. The concept of the relationship between the viewer and the person has been preserved in her paintings. “Faces speak more than it seems to us at first view,” says Galina.
